About me

I am an award-winning cartoonist based in Glasgow,Scotland. I was cartoonist of the Edinburgh Evening News from 1999 to 2015.

I studied illustration and printmaking at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art,Dundee, then worked for a year in the artists department of publishers DC Thomson

I then moved to London and freelanced as an illustrator and later as a political cartoonist for Labour Weekly and Tribune

I returned to Scotland and my work appeared in the Glasgow Herald,Scotland on Sunday and I was the regular cartoonist for the Newcastle-based Sunday Sun from 1990 to 1998

The Daily Record ran my cartoon strip Pirate Pete in 1992

In 1999 I became cartoonist of the Edinburgh Evening News, producing a daily cartoon called Boyling Point until 2015. I was twice voted Cartoonist of the Year at the Scottish Press Awards in 2003 and 2006

I also worked for the Sunday Post between 2014 and  2016

Solo exhibitions of my cartoons have been held at the City Art Centre,Edinburgh in 2008; Hampden Park,Glasgow; Smith Museum and Gallery,Stirling; Scottish Storytelling Centre,Edinburgh; English speaking Union,Edinburgh; the Scottish Parliament and Auld Kirk museum,Kirkintilloch
